Not every garage door job happens in a garage. This one was right on the water at Shadow Mountain Lake - a boathouse install that needed to be done right the first time. No room for a door that sticks, struggles, or gives out after a season of humidity and heavy use.

We went with a Haas 600 series door paired with a Sommer evo+ opener. That combination isn't an accident. The Haas 600 is built tough - clean panel construction, solid hardware, and the kind of fit and finish that holds up in demanding environments. The Sommer evo+ is one of the quietest, most reliable openers on the market. Belt-driven, smooth, and plenty powerful for a door this size.

The Sommer remote is a nice touch too. Compact, key-ring ready, and simple to use. Pull up to the boathouse on the water and hit the button - door goes up, you're in. That's exactly how it should work. No fumbling, no hassle.

What makes this kind of install interesting is the environment. A boathouse sits right where moisture, temperature swings, and constant use can wear down lesser equipment fast. Product selection matters a lot here. Getting the motor installation dialed in correctly - alignment, tension, travel limits - is just as important as the door itself. We take that seriously on every job, whether it's a standard garage or something like this.

Shadow Mountain Lake is a pretty special backdrop for a garage door install. But the goal is always the same: leave the customer with something that works perfectly and lasts. That's what we're here for.
